This is one of those outlandish venues you tend to easily concur with of brimming with "the vibe" in the unorthodox heartlands of the Lower East side music scene. The place is only a 20 X 20 feet atelier with rustic wooden flooring, one side of an exposed brick wall and a self-contained bar I must say I quite like - for one they are bigger on a good wines wishlist, and the crowd is always a conglomeration of well-heeled well-poised no-nonsense perceptive enthusiasts I find most agreeable. But most of all, they seem to have a constant ebb of music talent unearthed in other more common parts of the city - from alternative indie bands to solo vocalists with the velvetiest tones, mostly unfailing with their original compositions, I have yet to be dissapointed by a single performace I've attended here. Come here on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night and you'll have only enough room to stand with a drink in hand, and the songs run effortlessly from centerstage to your ears till they resound one after the other in progression, hour after hour and before you know it, you've lost track of the time you held you'd leave in. The atmosphere is a reminder of the musical niche created by the not-so far out neighbour -The Living Room; the colorlight on centerstage is almost intoxicating and there's something to be said about this place having attained the right "acoustic size", if you will, in a way that amplifies the intensity of a musical sequence contained in a tight audience. I attended Freeman and Justin Wands(of Echosuite) last week and the piano-bass-violin harmony is still reverberating in my ears like a newfound sensation. There's enough love in this city if you care to look out for some, or, for a change, just stand back and listen to it.
